What Weekendisti is
Weekendisti is a site of guides and travel diaries about weekends in Italy. Part of the content is written by the editorial team, and part comes from people who sign up and tell the story of a place they have really been to.
The site is under construction: some features described on the pages may not be active yet, and others will change. We say so because it is the truth, not to protect ourselves.
Your account
To create an account you need a display name, a valid email address and a password of at least eight characters. You can sign up and simply remain a reader: nobody obliges you to publish.
The account is personal: you are responsible for what is published from it and for keeping your password safe. If we notice use that breaches these rules, we may suspend the account.
What you can publish
When you propose a travel diary, you are telling us that:
- you wrote the text yourself, and it is not copied from others;
- if you upload an image, you have the right to use it and to have us publish it;
- it contains no personal data of other people put there without their consent;
- it contains no offensive, discriminatory or illegal content, nor advertising disguised as a story.
How review works
Every submission goes through the editorial team before becoming public. There is no automatic publishing: from the moment you submit, your diary remains visible only to you and to whoever reviews it.
The editorial team can do three things:
- approve it, at which point it becomes public under your name;
- ask you for changes, explaining what to fix: you correct it from your profile and send it back for review as many times as needed;
- reject it, explaining why.
In every case you will find the decision and the reasons in your profile. We are not obliged to publish a submission, and we may remove already published content from the site if a problem arises: in that case it goes back to private and we let you know.
Your content stays yours
What you write is yours and stays yours. By publishing it on Weekendisti you authorise us to show it on the site, linked to your name and your author page, and to quote it elsewhere to present the site. You can ask us to remove it: write to us and we will take it down.
The content written by the editorial team, the Weekendisti name, the logo and the site's graphics may not be reused without our consent.
What we do not promise
The practical information in diaries and guides is an account of experiences, not a guarantee: opening hours, prices and openings change, and the writer tells how it went for them. Always check before you leave.
The site is offered as it is. We do our best to keep it online and working, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be reachable or free of errors.
If these terms change
If we update them, we change the version at the top of the page. We record the version you accepted when you signed up.
